Me

Hi, I'm Tristan Tran. I am 13 years old and I am attending Evergreen High School. My interests include things such as music, sports, and traveling. I have been playing piano on and off for the past five years. I didn't get serious about it until about 2 years ago. Also, I have played guitar for the past 2 years. I'm not what you would call an athlete, but I do enjoy sports such as competitive water polo, swimming, cross country, and track. I enjoy the exercise and the chance to make friends. Finally, I love to travel. Whether it’s Hawaii, Washington D.C, or the Mediterranean, Australia or even my own back yard I couldn't care less. I just love the feeling of adventure, unfamiliarity, and individuality.

Me and People to People Ambassador Program

About 2 years ago I received a letter from People to People in my mail; I read it thinking it was a hoax. The idea of a government run program where you could earn college credits while traveling the world without parents just seemed too good to be true! That night, my mom and I went to the website and logged in using my new ID number and did some research: The information was completely legitimate. People to People is a program that was founded by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1959. This program teaches the world's youth "Peace through understanding" through the many international programs. This means through these "trips" children across the globe will learn that we are more alike than we are different and that we can make peace by accepting those differences and focusing on similarities.  I have now traveled twice with People to People Student Ambassador Program.
