Day:19 of my journey Paris, France We woke up in a rush and ran down the stairs. Today our first stop was the Chateau de Versailles. We were
amazed when we got there how collassal it was. First we went into the palace itself. It was a truly wonderful sight. With
its archaic charm and beauty beyond words it was wonderful. After the palace we went into the garden. It was immense! The
gardens had everything. Clear pools of water, flower beds, and beautiful hedges stretched out as far as the eye could see.
After we left the area I found myself looking back as if to say goodbye.
The next stop of the day was the Eiffel tower. It was incredible. The only problem was the fact that The
line took forever. While waiting in line we grew impatient. Some of us listened to our ipods. The others joked around with
their fellow ambassadors. As for me? I looked up into the sky wondering about everyone back home. I thought about my friends.
I thought about my family. I thought about everything. It felt like a real idiocracy for me. I did not feel this nogistalic
for the rest of the trip, but for some the thought of returning home drove me absolutely crazy. Finally after what seemed
to be half the day waiting in line we were finally at the top. The up side was that there was a marvelous view. The down side
was that we only had fifteen minutes to get back to the bus. We could either wait in line forever or we could walk. John Greco
and I took off sprinting down the stairs while avoiding other pedestrians. After all of it was over all that was left was
to remember where the bus was parked. We ran in the wrong direction for about a minute before we both realized we were with
the wrong group. After we returned to the bus it was time to go off to our last stop.
Our last field trip was to none other than the Hard Rock Cafe in Paris. All over the walls were guitars
and drum kits. There was Slash's guitar and Angus Young's and even Eminem's. After checking out the restaurant
we all sat down to eat a good old fashoined hamburger for the first time in a month. After savoring the moment we returned
to the hotel for some last minute fun. We ended the day with a pool tournament and by watching the conclusion to the Tour
de France.
